POSITION SUMMARY
Design and prepare clear, complete and accurate production documentation for printed circuit boards (PCBs).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Review and analyze electrical design schematics and supporting documents to plan layout of PCB components and printed circuitry.
- Perform and understand schematics capture, create and troubleshoot net list and routing rules from customer provided information packages about the design.
- Confer with engineers to resolve design details and problems.
- Perform placement and routing of PCBs for engineering review.
- Prepare PCB routing layout for engineering review.
- Prepare PCB manufacturing data for use in PCB fabrication.
- Generate accurate fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing artwork using Valor and Blueprint PCB.
- Able to read and interpret electrical/electronic schematics.
- Create detailed electrical/mechanical layouts with the use of schematics and guidance from engineers.
- Work directly with designers and engineers to prepare drawings from conceptual design to final product documentations.
- Maintain engineering documentation files and incorporate engineering change notices.
- Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
- Assist Drafters, Designers, and Engineers with questions and concerns about their designs and layouts.
- Develop and research better ways to design Printed Circuit Boards.
- Generate detail Fabrication drawings and Assembly drawings, Bill of Material and Gerber files of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB).
- Knowledgeable with the standard geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in accordance with ANSI Y14.5M-1995. Preferably familiar with military drawing standards, IEEE standards, and IPC standards.
- Interpret drawings in accordance with MIL-STD-100.
- Analyze various design requirements and recommend possible solutions or alternate constructions. Also prepare and evaluate tolerance stack-ups of the PCB.
- Assist in the follow-up of prototype construction with outside vendors.
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Electronics, Computer Science or Engineering) is preferred.
- 5+ years of related experience and/or training.
- Previous background in manufacturing is a plus.
